Playing Preschool

Eli and I do school work several days a week.  He loves it and I think he may be learning something :)  Sometimes we do Hooked of Phonics Kindergarten curriculum (don't be impressed, he is just learning the alphabet right now!), we use flashcards to practice colors, shapes, and counting, a Kumon workbook that helps him learn to write and draw, it also is good for number practice.  We have a sticker workbook with a transportation theme.  Our newest activity is magazine cut and paste to learn colors and practice motor skills.  After we finish colors, on to letters and munbers!

Here Eli is getting ready to glue
Working hard!
Perfect placement is key!
Here is the finished product- YELLOW

  1. Way to go! I did a lot of that with Sean when he was 2 and 3, then he went to preschool last year when he was 4.

I wish I could find time to keep it up with Eleanor and work on Kindergarten readiness for Sean, but it's just harder now with a 1 1/2 year old and a baby on the way. Maybe I'm just making excuses.

Anyway, keep up the good work! Are you planning on homeschool?

  2. Olivia, I am not planning on homeschooling. We are not opposed to homeschool, and will do it if public/private school does not work for a child, but I think it would be ALOT to have little ones and homeschool. I do not think I would enjoy it! Many people want to homeschool because of academic reasons, I will supplement and encourage additional learning evern for public schooled kiddos. Some people are worrried about worldly influences. We want to talk to our children and teach them how to be follow God even when others are not. So that is our schooling opinion now. :)

  4. That's so cute. Ryley loves arts and crafts. And he really wants to learn to read...lol although not patient enough to actually sit and read through a hole book. :P
